London Protect (MPS, CoLP and BTP), together with the office of the National Coordinator Protect and Prepare, are aware of the incident that occurred in Manchester last night, Monday 22nd May 2017.
An explosion occurred at the Manchester Arena at the conclusion of a concert, attended by a large number of young people, and has resulted in a number of fatalities and injuries. The explosion is being investigated as a terrorist incident. The Government’s COBRA Committee will sit this morning.
A further update will be provided as soon as possible but, in the meantime, please monitor media news channels for police statements regarding the incident. We would recommend that business review their security procedures and ensure that relevant staff are aware of their responsibilities.
